Conference Information
Welcome to the CUES virtual conference!  We are excited to have you join us for a morning of learning, networking, and fun.  Review the information below, and reach out if you have any additional questions.

Registration: Register for a session by adding it to your schedule by clicking the circle on the session tile. If you are wanting relicensure hours for your conference participation, you will need to register on MIDAS, course # 58021 "CUES Virtual Summer Conference." In addition, you'll also need to complete this short Form at the conclusion of the conference. Both of these will need to be completed by June 5, 2020 in order to receive your relicensure hours.

Session Access: There are two ways to access each session. At the end of a session description you'll find an "*Access the session from this link," or there is a button above the description that reads "Video Stream." Clicking either link will take you to the live-stream of the session. If passwords are required to enter to 'room' they will be provided in the description. Please remember to mute your mic when joining, and it would be great if your camera is on so all can see your smiling face. It'll be ok, everybody else will be in their pajamas, too.

Back Channeling/Networking: In order to help make our virtual experience more 'personable' we encourage you to keep your camera on during the sessions, as well as utilize the chat feature for conversations and questions. We want attendees to give shout-outs on social media with what you are learning during the conference. Use the #cuesvirtual, and follow it during the day to see what others are saying. Also, utilize this Padlet to post and share your thoughts and insights as well.

Session Resources: You can access any digital resources presenters may have by going to the "Session Resources" button directly above the session description.

Subject-Specific PLC's: We have dedicated time from 1:30 - 2:30 (or longer if desired) for PLC's. If you'd like to virtually meet with others who teach your same subject from around the region to share/discuss best practices, curriculum, resources, tips, tricks, or anything else on your mind, then add the PLC to your schedule and a meeting space will be made available. This session will not be moderated or facilitated by a presenter, so all content will be from attendees.

Feedback: This is our first attempt at a virtual conference, so we would love to hear your thoughts. Please complete this short feedback form at the conclusion of the conference. You are also able to provide feedback on specific sessions by opening the session description and clicking the feedback form on the bottom of the page. We appreciate you taking the time to do this for the sessions you attend.

Session Recordings:  All sessions should be recorded.  You'll be able to access the video recordings shortly after the conclusion of the conference by clicking on the link that will be included in each session description on Sched. Alternatively, all recordings will be accessible on this Sheet.

10 Teacher Traits that Superheroes Emulate
For years, it’s been said that teachers are real-life superheroes. Look, I get where this concept is coming from, but after 20+ years in the classroom, I think whoever came up with that saying had it backwards. Teachers aren’t like superheroes...Superheroes are like teachers! This high-energy presentation will look at ten of your favorite superheroes and explain the teacher-traits that each of them emulates. By the end of this session, you’ll start to realize that many of the traits that you admire about your favorite superheroes also lie within you.

The Chameleon
**Note:  This session has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 3 at 3:30.

Imagine a world where everything you know, changes. Suddenly you no longer go to work, the streets are empty, it seems everyone is speaking a different language, some are wearing masks, there is no one there. There are no answers to the questions. It is confusion
Recently, we all experienced COVID-19 and our world was turned upside down. It made us alter our daily routines, how we teach, and of course still adjust our home to the new norm.

These same feelings, these same questions, this same unknown day to day confusion can be a daily test for some of our students. Without the basic education or understanding of emotions, self-regulation or self-advocacy, our students don't always have all the skills necessary to maneuver through life. Some as simple as language barriers, home life, domestic, or simply a need to regulate.

How can we as educators work together to help our students' well bieng? Success or failure should not be determined by our resources or lack thereof.
Come join me to discuss Emotional Wellness for Students and Teachers alike. I would love active participation and Q&A!

Lend me your eyes, I'll change what you see.

The Correlation of Online Practical Experience (COPE)
For many of us there has been quite an abrupt learning curve to the shift of online/virtual instruction.  This moderated session will be a time for attendees to talk, vent, share ideas, gather insights, and see the things we've all learned during this crazy time which we can implement in our everyday, regular classroom when school returns, and how we can better COPE next school year!
